On August 21, 1879, in the small village of Knock, Ireland, fifteen witnesses saw an extraordinary apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary, accompanied by St. Joseph and St. John the Evangelist, with the Lamb of God on an altar surrounded by angels. Unlike other apparitions, Mary remained silent, her presence itself a message of peace, consolation, and hope during a time of suffering and hardship in Ireland.
Devotion to Our Lady of Knock has since spread worldwide, drawing pilgrims who seek her intercession in times of trial. She is especially venerated as the patroness of Ireland and all who turn to Mary for comfort, healing, and strength. Her silent apparition reminds the faithful of the power of prayer, perseverance, and trust in God’s presence.
This beautifully crafted statue of Our Lady of Knock portrays her serene and prayerful stance, inviting reflection, hope, and devotion. Place it in your home to honor Mary as Queen of Ireland and Mother of Peace, and to seek her loving intercession for your family.
Her feast day is celebrated on August 17, a time when the Church honors her apparition and her continuing presence among the faithful.
