“Penance! Penance! Penance! Pray to God for sinners. Go, kiss the ground for the conversion of sinners.”

“Penance! Penance! Penance! Pray to God for sinners. Go, kiss the ground for the conversion of sinners.”
Lady of Lourdes to St Bernadette Soubirous
The devotion to Our Lady of Lourdes began in 1858, when the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to St. Bernadette Soubirous, a humble shepherd girl in Lourdes, France. In a series of 18 apparitions, Mary revealed herself as the Immaculate Conception and called the faithful to prayer and penance. She also pointed Bernadette to a miraculous spring of water, which continues to be a source of healing for millions of pilgrims who visit Lourdes each year.
Countless faithful are devoted to Our Lady of Lourdes as a powerful intercessor for healing, comfort, and strength in times of illness or suffering. Through her motherly care, she draws believers closer to Christ, offering hope and peace to the sick and afflicted.
She is especially venerated as the patroness of the sick and those in need of healing. Many turn to her with the prayerful words: “Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us.”
This beautifully crafted statue of Our Lady of Lourdes, depicted in her white robe with a blue sash and rosary, is a powerful reminder of her message of prayer and healing. Place it in your home to invite her loving intercession and her blessings of peace.
Her feast day is celebrated on February 11, the same day as the World Day of the Sick, making it a time of special prayer for healing and trust in God’s mercy.
