First introduced in 1951 by Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen, the World Mission Rosary was created with a beautiful intention: to pray not only for ourselves, but for the whole world.

Each decade carries a different colour, representing a continent and the Church’s universal mission:
Green — Africa, for its forests and grasslands
Blue — Oceania, surrounded by the vast Pacific
White — Europe, home of the Holy Father
Red — the Americas, recalling the fire of faith carried by missionaries
Yellow — Asia, the land of the rising sun and morning light
