One fine morning, we received an email from Mount Alvernia Hospital in Singapore. They were embarking on a project to build a new specialist medical center and were searching for religious items to place in the interior and exterior of the building.
The building, specifically designed as a mother and child care center, boasts a warm interior atmosphere. They wanted to use crosses that were different from the usual ones—a cross that still conveys Jesus' love for humanity but is also suitable for all patients. They chose the Family Cross, which depicts a family at the center and serves as a reminder that God creates the family as a center of love and is present in every family. These crosses were to be placed in all maternity and general wards and public areas.
For the children’s ward, a unique and colorful Romero Cross from South America was selected. Its vibrant colors and depiction of Jesus the Good Shepherd would remind the children and us that He always loves and cares for us.
We had the privilege of being trusted to procure souvenirs for the blessing mass of the new building, St. Anne Mother & Children Center. A Tau pin and a prayer card were chosen to commemorate the dedication of the Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood (FMDM) sisters, who founded the hospital in 1961.
Additionally, a fridge magnet featuring an image of St. Francis of Assisi surrounded by Singapore's native animals was included as part of the souvenirs.
