One Fine Day

Updated: Oct 20, 2023

In a one fine morning, we got an email from Mount Alvernia Hospital in Singapore. They were running a project to build a new specialist medical centre and were searching for religious items to be placed in the interior and exterior of the building.

The building, which was specifically designed as a mother and child care centre, has a warm interior atmosphere and they want to use crosses that are different from the usual ones. A cross that still reminds of Jesus' love for humans but can also be accepted by patients in general. The choice came to the Family cross which were to be placed in all maternity and general wards and public places. The cross depicts a family at the centre of the cross which reminds us that God creates a family as a centre of love and is always present in every family.

For children ward, a unique and colourful Romero cross from South America was chosen. Its vibrant colour and a picture of Jesus the Good Shepherd would remind the children and us that He always loves and takes care of us.

We were privileged to be trusted to procure souvenirs for the blessing mass of the new building, St Anne, Mother & Children Center.

A Tau pin and a prayer card were chosen for the souvenirs in remembrance of the dedication of Fransiscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood (FMDM) sisters who founded the hospital in 1961.

In addition, a fridge magnet showing an image of St Francis of Assisi surrounded with Singapore's native animals is also added as a part of the souvenirs.
